Description Of Eucalyptus The eucalyptus furniture is made from reclaimed railway sleepers, These sleepers have been on the railroads for decades and have been weathered to the extreme. The sleepers are extremely dense and have old railway track holes and railway metal spikes still in them. They are extremely labour intensive compared to the oak beams because of these characteristics they demand a slight premium over the oak and also require a further staining stage to get the wood to a darkened finish, without the staining, the wood once surface material has been removed is a somewhat pinkyish colour, not a huge fan. Made To Order All our furniture pieces are made to order, please allow for this when purchasing. Allow five working days for construction and three working days for delivery. We aim to hit below these targets but due to demand this can get a little hectic, around the busy seasons. Typical Dimensions The furniture pieces typical dimensions are beam sectional width 240mm by 130mm and the table length is about 80cm a width of 48cm and a height of 38cm. Each piece is individual so dimensions may vary slighty. How Its Delivered The furniture is wrapped in multiple parcels. Typically the parcels are layered in large bubble wrap then wrapped in pallet wrap, hopefully making the beams drop proof. What You Need To Put Together The beams arrive in finished form but are heavy in the region of 30kg per 120cm lengths, so please be careful when lifting and use competent lifting technique while in good health. An electric drill is also a massive help for putting the bracketing on, assembly can be done with a screw driver but is seriously hard work.. good luck with that. Dependant on the piece of furniture a chisel, sander etc etc may come in handy especially for installing a fire surround as there are multiple options on how to go about this.
